Welcome to the BISC Program BISC SIG in Data Mining The BISC-DM SIG (special interest group in database mining) focuses on soft computing approaches to database mining. The group is intended to be a communication resource. BISC-DM facilitates communication between people who have interests in soft computing techniques and database mining. In part, applying soft computing to database mining involves an acceptance of impreciseness is an implicit aspect of: data, the data structures, and the extracted information. This group is not intended to be a general SIG for database mining; but, rather focuses on approaches that embrace the view that data and the extracted results are implicitly imprecise.
